Hostess Brands, LLC is recalling approximately 357,734 cases of Hostess Soft White Hamburger Buns and Soft White Hot Dog Buns. This recall was initiated after a contract manufacturer's environmental testing found the presence of Listeria and Salmonella species in the production facility. These 12-ounce packages were distributed to retailers and distributors across 35 states throughout August, September, and October 2021. Consumers should return these products to the store where they were purchased for a full refund.

Risk

The products may have been contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes or Salmonella due to positive environmental samples at the manufacturing facility. These pathogens can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections, particularly in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.
