Alamo Group Inc.: JetVac Recycler Vehicles Recalled for Falling Hose Reel Risk

Summary

Alamo Group Inc. is recalling approximately 150 of its 2019-2022 All JetVac Recycler vehicles, including models AJV1215, AJV1015, AJV0810, AJV1010, AJV0812, AJV0720, AJV0610, and AJV1515. The clevis—a metal fastener—attaching the hose reel tilt rod and cylinder to the reel itself is too short, which can cause the component to fail. This defect can lead to the heavy hose reel falling unexpectedly to the ground, creating a serious hazard for operators and bystanders. Owners can have this issue fixed by a dealer who will install a new, longer threaded clevis at no cost.

Risk

The undersized clevis can break under the weight and tension of the hose reel assembly, causing the reel to detach and fall. A falling hose reel poses a significant risk of impact injuries to anyone working near or under the equipment.

What You Should Do

  1. Check your vehicle's model and production year to see if it is one of the affected All JetVac Recycler units: AJV1215, AJV1015, AJV0810, AJV1010, AJV0812, AJV0720, AJV0610, or AJV1515 from the 2019-2022 model years.
  2. Contact Alamo's customer service at 1-800-382-8302 to verify if your specific vehicle is included in this recall and to schedule a free repair.
  3. Take your vehicle to an authorized dealer to have a new threaded clevis of the proper length installed free of charge.
