Summary

Motor Coach Industries (MCI) is recalling approximately 12 of its 2024 D45CRTE, 2024 D45CRTELE, and 2025 J4500E coaches. The high voltage battery system in these vehicles can experience a short circuit within the battery module when the vehicle is charged to near or full capacity. To address this risk, MCI will replace the batteries in affected vehicles free of charge.

Risk

A short circuit in the high voltage battery increases the risk of a vehicle fire. Because of this danger, owners are advised to park their vehicles outdoors and away from buildings until the repair is finished.

What You Should Do

  1. Park this vehicle outdoors, away from structures — do NOT park in a garage due to fire risk.
  2. The recalled vehicles are 2024 Motor Coach Industries D45CRTE and D45CRTELE coaches, and 2025 Motor Coach Industries J4500E coaches.
  3. Avoid charging vehicles above 75% capacity until the high voltage battery has been replaced.
  4. Contact Motor Coach Industries customer service at 1-800-241-2947 to schedule a free battery replacement.
  5. Call the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov for additional information regarding recall 25V632.
