Summary

Mercedes-Benz USA is recalling approximately 3,828 vehicles, including 2023 EQE 350 and S580e, 2022-2023 EQS 450 and EQS 580, and 2022 AMG EQS 53 and EQS 450+ models. The high-voltage battery monitoring system software in these vehicles may fail to alert the driver in the event of a battery malfunction. Dealers will update the battery management system software at no cost to owners to ensure compliance with federal safety standards for electrical shock protection.

Risk

If the battery monitoring system fails to alert the driver to a malfunction, it could prevent the driver from taking necessary safety precautions, increasing the risk of vehicle failure or injury.
