Summary

Lightning eMotors Inc. (LeM) is recalling 27 of its 2021-2022 FE4-129 vehicles that are equipped with Romeo Power battery packs. The high voltage batteries in these vehicles may fail to start or suddenly lose traction power while the vehicle is being driven. To resolve this safety issue, Lightning eMotors will replace the affected battery packs with new ones at no cost to owners.

Risk

A sudden loss of traction power while driving can cause the vehicle to stop unexpectedly in traffic, which significantly increases the risk of a crash.
