Nova Bus (US) Inc. is recalling 13 LFS battery electric transit buses from model years 2022 and 2023. These buses contain high-voltage batteries where internal threaded inserts, known as rivnuts, may have been over-tightened during manufacturing and broken. Nova Bus will replace the affected high-voltage batteries for free to eliminate the hazard.
The broken inserts inside the high-voltage battery can cause an internal electrical short circuit. A short circuit in a high-voltage system significantly increases the risk of a thermal event or vehicle fire.
Free replacement of high-voltage batteries.
