Summary

Jayco, Inc. is recalling 1,342 motorhomes from the 2021-2024 model years, including the Jayco Solstice LI, Swift, Terrain, Terrain LE, and Entegra Coach Ethos LI, Expanse LI, and Launch LE models. The recall is due to internal battery relay contactors that may become stuck in the closed position, which can cause the battery to malfunction. Dealers will provide a free software update to address the issue; owner notification letters were mailed in May 2024.

Risk

If the battery relays remain stuck in the closed position, there is a significantly increased risk of a fire occurring while the vehicle's battery is charging.

What You Should Do

  1. Identify if your motorhome is affected by checking your vehicle's make, model, and year against the following list: 2021-2024 Jayco Solstice LI, Swift, Terrain, Terrain LE, or 2021-2024 Entegra Coach Ethos LI, Expanse LI, and Launch LE.
  2. Contact a Jayco authorized dealer to schedule an appointment for a free update to the battery management software.
  3. If you have additional questions, contact Jayco customer service at 1-800-283-8267 and reference Jayco recall number 9903603.
  4. For further assistance, contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov.
