Summary

Mercedes-Benz USA is recalling 12,236 of its 2022-2025 EQB 250, EQB 300 4MATIC, and EQB 350 4MATIC electric vehicles due to a high-voltage battery defect. The battery may fail internally, creating a risk of fire while the vehicle is parked or being driven. To resolve this issue, authorized dealers will provide a free software update for the battery management system.

Risk

An internal failure in the high-voltage battery can cause the vehicle to catch fire, increasing the risk of injury. Because of this risk, owners are advised to park their vehicles outdoors and away from buildings until the necessary repair is completed.
