Navistar, Inc. is recalling approximately 25,822 vehicles including certain 2021-2022 International CV; 2022-2023 International HV; and 2023 models of IC 1300 FBC, CE, RE, TC, International MV, HX, LT, RH, and LoneStar. The hex flange lock nuts used in critical steering and suspension joints were improperly heat treated during manufacturing and can break or lose tension over time. If your vehicle is affected, Navistar dealers will replace these nuts with properly treated components free of charge.
A loss of tension or breakage of these lock nuts can cause the steering and suspension joints to become loose. This can result in sudden steering instability or a complete loss of steering control, significantly increasing the risk of a crash.
Free replacement of hex flange lock nuts.
