Summary

Porsche is recalling 222,858 vehicles including certain 2003-2020 Macan, Cayenne, Panamera, and Cayman S models, as well as 2001-2004 Boxster models. These vehicles are missing the sealing caps that cover the horizontal adjustment screws for the low-beam headlights. This defect means the headlights can be improperly adjusted, which violates federal safety standards for automotive lighting. Porsche dealers will inspect the headlights and install any missing caps free of charge.

Risk

Missing adjustment screw covers can allow the headlights to be improperly aimed. Headlights that are not adjusted correctly may fail to illuminate the road ahead properly or create a dangerous glare for oncoming drivers, significantly increasing the risk of a crash.

What You Should Do

  1. Check if your vehicle is among the affected models: 2003-2020 Porsche Macan, Cayenne, Panamera, and Cayman S; 2001-2004 Boxster and Boxster S; or 2004 Boxster 50 JAHRE SPYDER 550.
  2. Contact an authorized Porsche dealer to schedule a free inspection and repair. Dealers will check for missing sealing caps and install them as necessary.
  3. If you have questions, contact Porsche customer service at 1-800-767-7243 and reference recall number ANB4.
  4. For additional information, you may contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov.
