Porsche Cars North America, Inc.: 2024 Porsche Cayenne Models Recalled for Failing Hazard Warning Lights

Summary

Porsche is recalling 2,934 of its 2024 Cayenne, Cayenne S, Cayenne Coupe, Cayenne Turbo GT, and Cayenne S Coupe vehicles. In these vehicles, the rear hazard warning lights and parking lights may fail to turn on if they are activated within 10 seconds after the vehicle's gateway control unit has shut off. This failure means the vehicles do not meet federal safety standards for lighting equipment. Porsche dealers will provide a free software update to the gateway control unit to resolve the issue.

Risk

If the rear hazard lights or parking lights fail to work when activated, the vehicle becomes significantly less visible to other drivers on the road. This lack of visibility increases the risk of being struck by another vehicle, potentially leading to a crash.

What You Should Do

  1. Identify if you own an affected 2024 model year Porsche Cayenne, Cayenne S, Cayenne Coupe, Cayenne Turbo GT, or Cayenne S Coupe.
  2. Contact an authorized Porsche dealer to schedule a service appointment for a free software update to your vehicle's gateway control unit.
  3. If you have questions regarding this recall (Porsche recall number APB1), contact Porsche customer service at 1-800-767-7243.
