Summary

Columbus Trading-Partners USA, Inc. (CTP) is recalling approximately 23,273 Cybex Aton G, Eos, Libelle, and Beezy infant car seats and travel systems. The harness hip anchorage retention hooks on these models can bend, causing the anchor pin to loosen and the harness strap to detach. CTP is providing a free remedy kit to all affected owners to ensure the child remains safely secured.

Risk

A detached harness will not properly restrain a child during a sudden stop or crash, significantly increasing the risk of serious injury or death. This occurs because the hardware designed to hold the straps in place can bend and fail under stress.

What You Should Do

  1. Check your car seat label to see if you own an affected model: Cybex Aton G, Aton G SensorSafe, Aton G Swivel, Aton G Swivel SensorSafe, Eos/Aton G Travel Systems, Libelle/Aton G Travel Systems, or Beezy/Aton G Travel Systems.
  2. Verify if you have received an owner notification letter, which were scheduled to begin mailing on March 17, 2025.
  3. CTP will mail owners a remedy kit and installation instructions, free of charge.
  4. If you have not received a kit or have questions, contact CTP customer service at 877-242-5676.
  5. Contact the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov for additional information.
