Summary

H.I.S. is recalling about 4,400 Self-Esteem brand girl's clothing sets because the included gold leaf pendant necklace contains levels of lead that exceed the federal limit. The three-piece set includes a teal cold-shoulder top, floral print leggings, and the pendant necklace. These outfits were sold at Burlington and Shopko stores nationwide from February 2018 through October 2018. Consumers should immediately stop using the necklace and return it to the store for a full refund.

Risk

The metal leaf pendant on the necklace contains excessive lead, which is toxic to young children if ingested. Lead exposure can lead to serious adverse health issues and developmental problems.

What You Should Do

  1. Check your child's wardrobe for the Self-Esteem brand three-piece clothing set, which features a teal short-sleeve top with cut-out shoulders and navy blue floral leggings.
  2. Verify the set by looking at the white label on the inside of the garment for style number PO#71160/LOT9 and a production date of 10/2017.
  3. Immediately take the gold leaf pendant necklace (which has an orange and teal center) away from children and stop using it.
  4. Return the necklace to any Burlington or Shopko store to receive a full refund.
  5. For more information, contact H.I.S. International Group at 800-451-0285 extension 2879 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday, or email address-info@his-nyc.com.
