Summary

This recall involves approximately 34,460 Goal Zero Yeti Link Expansion Modules and various EC8 power cables used to connect batteries in homes or to vehicle alternators. The connection between the modules and the cables can overheat and melt, which poses fire and burn hazards. Goal Zero has received two reports of cables melting inside vehicles, causing minor property damage, though no injuries have been reported. Consumers should stop using the modules and cables immediately and contact Goal Zero for a free replacement kit.

Risk

The connection point between the Yeti Link module and the power cables can fail, causing it to overheat and melt. This creates a direct fire risk to the vehicle or home where the system is installed and poses a burn hazard to anyone nearby.
