Summary

Gillig, LLC is recalling 6 of its 2023-2024 Low Floor transit buses equipped with Michelin X InCity Grip D rear tires. The federal placard on these buses displays a Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) that may be higher than the actual load rating of the tires. Gillig will provide and replace the federal placard with the correct information free of charge.

Risk

If an operator relies on the incorrect weight rating on the placard, they may unintentionally overload the rear tires. Overloaded tires are at an increased risk of failure, which can lead to a loss of vehicle control and a crash.
