Summary

Ritons is recalling approximately 5,800 sets of multi-colored 3 mm magnetic balls because they contain small, high-powered magnets that violate federal safety standards. If swallowed, these magnets can attract each other or other metal objects through internal tissues, causing life-threatening blockages and perforations. The sets were sold on Amazon for about $35 from November 2024 through August 2025. Consumers should immediately stop using the magnets and keep them away from children.

Risk

When high-powered magnets are swallowed, they can attract each other inside the digestive system, leading to intestinal twisting, blockages, perforations (holes in the gut), blood poisoning, and death. No injuries have been reported to date.

What You Should Do

  1. Check your magnets to see if they are multi-colored 3 mm (0.1 inch) balls sold in a set of 1,000. The clear plastic packaging is labeled with "1000 Magnets" and "3MM" on the front.
  2. Stop using the recalled magnetic ball sets immediately and take them away from children.
  3. Contact Ritons via email at recall0817@163.com to receive instructions on how to obtain a full refund and a prepaid label to return the product.
  4. Call the CPSC Hotline at 800-638-2772 if you have additional questions.
