Summary

Daimler Trucks North America is recalling 620 vehicles, including 2025 Freightliner Cascadia, Western Star 49X, and Freightliner Custom Chassis models (XCM and XCP) equipped with Cummins fuel pumps. The fuel pump barrels in these trucks may fracture and leak fuel, which can cause the engine to stall unexpectedly during operation. To address this safety hazard, Cummins will replace the affected fuel pump barrels with new components free of charge.

Risk

A fractured fuel pump barrel can lead to a fuel leak and a sudden engine stall while driving. This loss of engine power significantly increases the risk of a crash on the road.
