Summary

Ford Motor Company is recalling 24 vehicles, including certain 2023 Lincoln Corsair, 2023-2024 Escape, 2024 Mustang, and 2025 Explorer models. The fuel injectors in these vehicles may have been built without a critical component called an O-ring support disc, which can cause fuel to leak. Dealers will install new fuel injector O-rings and support discs free of charge to prevent the risk of fire.

Risk

A fuel leak in the engine compartment can lead to a fire if the fuel comes into contact with an ignition source, such as hot engine parts or sparks.

What You Should Do

  1. Identify if your vehicle is affected by checking the model and year: 2023 Lincoln Corsair, 2023-2024 Ford Escape, 2024 Ford Mustang, or 2025 Ford Explorer.
  2. Contact a Ford or Lincoln dealership to schedule a free repair; dealers will install new fuel injector O-rings and O-ring support discs.
  3. If you have additional questions, contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 and mention recall number 24S54.
  4. Contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.safercar.gov for more information.
