Summary

New Flyer of America, Inc. is recalling 210 transit buses, including 2023-2024 XDE60 and 2024 XD35, XD40, and XD60 models equipped with Cummins L9 diesel engines. The fuel filter hoses on these buses can disconnect from their fittings, which results in a diesel fuel leak or can cause the engine to suddenly stall. Cummins will replace the fuel hoses on all affected vehicles at no cost to owners.

Risk

A fuel leak in the presence of an engine's heat or other ignition sources significantly increases the risk of a fire. Additionally, if the engine stalls while the bus is in traffic, it increases the risk of a crash.
