Summary

Cummins, Inc. is recalling 230 Cummins L9 diesel engines with part number D563027BX03. The remote fuel filter hoses on these engines can disconnect from their fittings, causing fuel to leak and cutting off the fuel supply to the engine. Cummins is providing a free replacement of the fuel filter hoses to all affected owners to prevent fire or engine failure. Owner notification letters were mailed in early July 2024.

Risk

A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source significantly increases the risk of a fire. Additionally, the lack of fuel supply can cause the engine to stall suddenly while driving, which increases the risk of a crash.

What You Should Do

  1. Check your engine's part number to see if it matches Cummins L9 diesel engine part number D563027BX03.
  2. If your engine is affected, contact Cummins customer service at 1-800-286-6467 to schedule a free repair. Refer to Cummins recall number C7032 during your call.
