Summary

Altec Industries is recalling 623 units of its 2024 AT and TA series aerial devices and ST series spray bodies because the fuel and brake lines may not be properly secured. This loose hardware can cause the lines to rub against other parts, leading to damage and potential leaks. To fix this, Altec is providing free inspection kits and will repair any damaged lines through their dealers at no cost to owners.

Risk

A leak in the brake lines can lead to sudden brake failure, significantly increasing the risk of a crash. Additionally, if fuel leaks near an engine or other heat source, it can ignite and cause a vehicle fire.

What You Should Do

  1. Check if your equipment is a 2024 Altec AT or TA series aerial device or an ST series spray body with recall number CSN-3181.
  2. Contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832 to obtain official instructions and a kit to inspect and secure the brake and fuel lines.
  3. If you find that the lines are already damaged or leaking, contact your Altec dealer immediately to schedule a free professional repair of the fuel and brake lines.
  4. For further information or to check your vehicle's status, call the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov.
