Summary

Ford Motor Company is recalling 13 units of the 2022-2023 Ford Super Duty F-350, F-450, F-550, and F-600 vehicles. The front wheel hub extender fasteners may not be tightened enough, which can cause the wheel and the extender to completely detach from the truck. Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the wheel hub extender, retaining nuts, and hub assembly free of charge.

Risk

If the wheel and extender detach while driving, the driver could lose control of the vehicle and create a significant hazard for other motorists, increasing the risk of a crash. Because of this danger, owners are advised not to drive these vehicles until the repair is finished.

What You Should Do

  1. Stop driving this vehicle immediately and park it until the recall repair is completed.
  2. Contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 to arrange for a free inspection of the front wheel hub extender retaining nuts.
  3. If the dealer finds the nuts are loose, they will replace the wheel hub extender, retaining nuts, and hub assembly at no cost to you.
  4. Reference Ford's internal recall number 23S59 when speaking with the dealer or customer service representative.
  5. For additional information, contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov.
