Summary

Chrysler is recalling approximately 2,802 vehicles, including 2022 Ram 1500, 2022 Jeep Gladiator, and 2021 Jeep Wrangler models. The front seat belt retractors in these vehicles may have an improperly welded component that can cause the seat belt pretensioner to fail during an accident. Owners of these vehicles will receive a free replacement of the front seat belt retractors from their local dealer.

Risk

If the seat belt pretensioner fails, the seat belt may not properly tighten and restrain the passenger during a crash, which significantly increases the risk of injury to the occupant.

What You Should Do

  1. Identify if you own an affected vehicle: 2021 Jeep Wrangler, 2022 Jeep Gladiator, or 2022 Ram 1500.
  2. Contact any authorized Chrysler, Jeep, or Ram dealership to schedule a free appointment for the replacement of the front seat belt retractors.
  3. If you have questions or want to verify your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403 and mention recall number Z95.
