Summary

Triumph Motorcycles America, Ltd. is recalling 107 of its 2023 Trident 660 and Tiger Sport 660 motorcycles because the front fork caps may have incorrectly machined threads. This defect can cause the caps to strip and suddenly detach from the fork outer tube while riding. Triumph will notify owners, and authorized dealers will replace the affected fork caps with corrected parts at no cost to the owner.

Risk

If a front fork cap detaches while the motorcycle is in motion, it can cause a sudden loss of vehicle handling and control. This failure significantly increases the risk of a crash and potential injury to the rider or others.

What You Should Do

  1. Check your motorcycle's model and year to determine if it is a 2023 Trident 660 or 2023 Tiger Sport 660.
  2. Locate your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and contact your local authorized Triumph dealer to confirm if your specific unit is included in recall SRAN 617.
  3. If your motorcycle is affected, schedule an appointment with an authorized Triumph dealer to have the front fork caps replaced free of charge.
  4. If you have questions, contact Triumph customer service at 1-678-854-2010 and reference recall number SRAN 617.
  5. For additional information or to verify your VIN, you may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov.
