Summary

Volkswagen Group of America is recalling 9,653 Audi vehicles, specifically 2022-2024 Audi RS E-Tron GT and Audi E-Tron GT models, because the front axle brake hoses can develop tears. These tears can lead to brake fluid leaks and cause the brake system to fail. Owners will receive a free replacement of the front axle brake hoses at their local dealership to resolve the issue.

Risk

A leak in the brake circuit can result in the brake pedal traveling further than usual and significantly reduced stopping power. This increased stopping distance makes a crash much more likely.

What You Should Do

  1. Identify if you own a 2022, 2023, or 2024 Audi RS E-Tron GT or Audi E-Tron GT vehicle.
  2. Contact an authorized Audi dealership to schedule a service appointment for a free replacement of both front axle brake hoses.
  3. If you have further questions, contact Audi customer service at 1-800-253-2834 and reference recall number 47UP.
  4. For additional information, contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov.
