Summary

Hino Motors Sales U.S.A., Inc. is recalling approximately 64 of its 2023 NE7A, NJ7A, and NV7A vehicles because the front axle U-bolts may have been over-tightened during assembly. This defect can cause the U-bolts that secure the front leaf spring assembly to break and detach from the vehicle. Authorized dealers will replace the affected front axle U-bolts and upper seats free of charge to ensure the assembly is properly secured.

Risk

If the U-bolts break, the front axle may shift or detach, causing a sudden loss of vehicle handling and steering control, which significantly increases the risk of a crash.

What You Should Do

  1. Identify if you own a 2023 Hino NE7A, NJ7A, or NV7A vehicle by checking your vehicle registration or the VIN plate located on the driver-side door jamb.
  2. Contact an authorized Hino dealer immediately to schedule a free appointment for the replacement of the front axle U-bolts and upper seats.
  3. If you have questions regarding this recall, contact Hino customer service at 1-248-699-9390 and reference recall number M0420.
