Fredericksburg Distribution, doing business as Fredericksburg Farms, is recalling approximately 6,500 of its 10-ounce scented candles sold in square glass jars with glass lids. Some of the glass lids fit too tightly, which can cause the glass jar to break if a consumer attempts to force the lid open. The company has received four reports of people receiving cuts on their hands when the glass jars shattered. These candles were sold in 15 different scents at Buc-ee's and other gift shops from October 2022 through February 2023 for about $18.
The tight-fitting glass lids can cause the jar to shatter when opened with force, posing a serious risk of cuts (lacerations) to the hands. There have already been four reports of injuries associated with this defect.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled scented candles and should not attempt to forcibly remove the lid if it does not come off easily. Contact Fredericksburg Farms for instructions on how to return the product for a full refund.
