Summary

Fred Meyer has recalled about 48,000 Kids Korner brand children's fleece hooded sweatshirts and girls' bomber jackets because the zipper pull can detach. These items were sold in 18 different prints and solid colors for infants, toddlers, and children in sizes ranging from 9 months to youth size 7. The affected clothing was sold at Fred Meyer, Kroger, Smith's, and Fry's Marketplace stores between February and March 2017. If you own one of these garments, you should stop using it immediately and return it to the store where it was purchased for a full refund.

Risk

The zipper pull can detach from the garment, creating small parts that pose a choking hazard to young children or potential laceration hazards from sharp edges. While no injuries have been reported, the detachment of the pull makes the garment unsafe for children.

What You Should Do

  1. Immediately stop using the recalled Kids Korner sweatshirts and jackets and keep them away from children.
  2. Check the label at the back of the neck for the brand name 'Kids Korner'.
  3. Locate the white label sewn into the lower left inside seam to verify the manufacture date of '11/16' and look for style numbers ending in 8701P, 8701YD, 8671P, 9019, or 9022P.
  4. Return the affected sweatshirt or jacket to any Fred Meyer, Kroger, Smith's, or Fry's Marketplace location for a full refund of the purchase price.
