Summary

Fitness Anywhere is recalling about 2,700 TRX dip bars and hammer bars used with TRX S-Frames and Elevated Frames. The welds on these bars can crack or break during use, which can cause a user to fall and suffer injuries. There have been 33 reports of these welds breaking, including one report of a minor injury. These items were sold nationwide between June 2011 and May 2013 for approximately $500.

Risk

The welds connecting the handles to the main support bar can fail or snap, causing the bars to give way while a user is performing dips or pull-ups, leading to a sudden fall.

What You Should Do

  1. Immediately identify your equipment by checking the handle spacing and bar length: the S-Frame dip bar has handles 18 inches apart on a 49-inch bar; the Elevated Frame dip bar has handles 18 inches apart on a 58-inch bar; and the hammer bar has handles 16 inches apart on a 17-inch bar.
  2. Check the branding on the bars for 'MAKE YOUR BODY YOUR MACHINE' or 'TRX | Training Zone' printed on the metal support bar.
  3. Immediately stop using the recalled TRX dip bars and hammer bars to avoid the risk of falling.
  4. Contact Fitness Anywhere toll-free at (888) 221-7417 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. PT Monday through Friday, or by email at customercare@trxtraining.com to receive a free replacement product.
