Kia America, Inc. is recalling approximately 39,536 of its 2021-2023 Sorento vehicles because the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) blower motor wiring harness may be inadequate. This defect can lead to an electrical fire within the dashboard area. Dealers will replace the affected wiring harness and blower motor resistor free of charge to resolve the safety issue.
The inadequate wiring harness can overheat during use, which may result in a fire. A vehicle fire significantly increases the risk of injury to occupants and bystanders.
Replacement of HVAC blower motor components.
Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning October 9, 2025.
