Summary

Autocar, LLC is recalling approximately 55 of its 2020-2022 ACX (Xpeditor) vehicles because the external fuse box can short-circuit if water gets inside. This electrical failure can cause the truck's engine to stall suddenly while driving. To fix the issue, dealers will change the mounting position of the fuse box to a vertical orientation and install a protective shield to prevent water intrusion.

Risk

If the external fuse box short-circuits due to water, it can cause the vehicle to stall unexpectedly. An engine stall while the vehicle is in motion increases the risk of a crash.

What You Should Do

  1. Check your vehicle records or identification plate to confirm if you own a 2020, 2021, or 2022 Autocar ACX (Xpeditor) truck.
  2. Contact an authorized Autocar service center or dealer to schedule a free repair; dealers will remount the fuse box vertically and install a protective shield.
  3. You can contact Autocar's customer service department at 1-888-218-3611 and reference recall number ACX-2304 for more information.
  4. For additional questions, call the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov.
