Summary

Carrier Corporation is recalling approximately 7,299 Carrier Transicold Refrigeration Units, specifically model NDTP Supra S Series (S6, S7, S8, S9, and S10), due to a wiring defect. A 12-Volt wire harness on these truck refrigeration units may have exposed wires and be missing protective heat shrink, which can lead to electrical arcing. Dealers will inspect the units and secure or insulate any exposed wires at no cost to the owner.

Risk

The exposed wiring can cause electrical arcing, which significantly increases the risk of a vehicle fire during operation.

What You Should Do

  1. Check if your truck is equipped with a Carrier Transicold Refrigeration Unit, model NDTP Supra S Series (models S6, S7, S8, S9, or S10).
  2. Contact an authorized Carrier Transicold dealer to schedule a free inspection and repair of the 12-Volt wire harness.
  3. If you have questions regarding this recall (Carrier's recall number R-968), contact Carrier customer service at 1-800-448-1661.
