Summary

Winnebago Industries, Inc. is recalling approximately 5,313 model year 2020-2024 Winnebago View and Navion recreational vehicles. These RVs are equipped with Lippert Metallarte door assemblies that may have incorrect window adhesion, which can cause the entrance door window to loosen or completely detach. Owners should contact a Winnebago dealer to have the window secured with specialized clips free of charge.

Risk

A window that detaches while the vehicle is in transit can fall into the roadway, becoming a hazard for following vehicles and significantly increasing the risk of a crash.

What You Should Do

  1. Check your vehicle's model and year to see if you own a 2020-2024 Winnebago View or Navion equipped with a Lippert Metallarte door assembly.
  2. Verify if your vehicle is affected by contacting Winnebago customer service at 1-800-537-1885 and referencing recall number 191.
  3. Schedule an appointment with an authorized dealer for the repair: 'Dealers will install clips to secure the window to the door as necessary, free of charge.'
  4. Monitor your mail for a second notice from Winnebago which will be sent once the final remedy is available, following the interim letter mailed December 20, 2024.
  5. If you have additional questions, contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov.
