Summary

Honda is recalling approximately 474 of its 2025 CB1000SP motorcycles because the pistons and piston rings may have been manufactured improperly. This defect can lead to engine rod bearing failure, which can cause the rear wheel to lock up or cause engine oil to leak onto the rear tire. Honda will provide a free inspection and repair of the engine assembly at authorized dealerships to resolve the issue.

Risk

A rear wheel lockup while riding significantly increases the risk of a crash and serious injury. Additionally, engine oil leaking onto hot exhaust components creates a high risk of a fire.
