Summary

Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling approximately 1,337 of its 2024-2026 CBR600RR motorcycles due to a manufacturing defect in the cylinder head. This defect can cause the engine's rod bearings to fail, which may result in the engine stalling, the rear wheel locking up, or oil leaking onto the rear tire and hot exhaust components. Dealers will replace the entire engine assembly free of charge to resolve the safety issue.

Risk

If the rod bearing fails while the motorcycle is in motion, the rear wheel could suddenly lock up, significantly increasing the risk of a crash or injury. Additionally, engine oil leaking onto hot exhaust parts creates a fire hazard.
