Summary

Mitsubishi Fuso Truck of America, Inc. (MFTA) is recalling 175 of its 2024 FEC7K and FEC9K commercial trucks. A software error in the control unit counter can cause the vehicle to shut down without warning while being driven, leading to a sudden loss of drive power. Although none of these specific vehicles have been sold to customers yet, MFTA is taking action to ensure the defect is corrected through a free software update at authorized dealers.

Risk

A sudden loss of drive power while the vehicle is in motion increases the risk of a crash as the driver may not be able to maintain speed or safely maneuver in traffic.
