Summary

Mazda North American Operations is recalling approximately 38,926 CX-90 vehicles from the 2024 model year. A software issue in these vehicles may prevent the engine from restarting after the 'i-stop' idling stop feature has automatically turned the engine off. Owners are being notified to visit a dealer to have two specific engine control modules reprogrammed at no cost.

Risk

If the engine fails to restart after an automatic stop, the vehicle may become immobilized in traffic, significantly increasing the risk of a rear-end collision or other crash.
