Summary

Kia America, Inc. is recalling approximately 137,256 model year 2021-2023 Seltos and Soul vehicles because the piston oil rings may have been manufactured incorrectly. Dealers will inspect the engine and, if necessary, replace it or install specialized noise-sensing software free of charge.

Risk

A damaged engine can cause the vehicle to lose power and stall while in motion or result in an engine compartment fire, both of which significantly increase the risk of a crash or injury to occupants.
