Summary

Jaguar Land Rover North America is recalling 2,013 vehicles including various 2023-2024 Defender, 2024 Discovery, Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, and Range Rover Velar models. The oil filter housing in these vehicles can crack, causing oil to leak into the engine compartment. Authorized dealers will replace the filter housing, oil filter, and o-rings at no cost to owners.

Risk

Leaking oil can come into contact with hot engine or exhaust components, which creates a significant risk of an engine compartment fire while the vehicle is being operated.

What You Should Do

  1. Identify if your vehicle is affected by checking your specific model and year: 2023-2024 Land Rover Defender, or 2024 models of the Land Rover Discovery, Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, and Range Rover Velar.
  2. Contact an authorized Land Rover dealer to schedule a free appointment to have the oil filter housing, oil filter, and o-rings replaced.
  3. For more information, contact Land Rover customer service at 1-800-637-6837 and reference recall number N908.
  4. If you have additional questions, contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov.
