Summary

This recall involves about 215 Frigidaire Stainless-Steel 30-inch 4 Burner (model FFGC3026SS) and 36-inch 5 Burner (model FFGC3626SS) gas cooktops. The plastic control knobs with black shafts on these units can crack or break during use, which can lead to gas leaks or fire. There have been 63 reports of these knobs breaking, resulting in one fire and one minor injury from a gas leak. Electrolux Group is providing a free set of replacement knobs to all affected customers and is reaching out to known purchasers directly.

Risk

The plastic shafts on the control knobs can crack or break, potentially preventing the gas from being shut off properly or causing gas to leak, posing a risk of fire or injury. Sixty-three incidents of broken knobs have been reported, including one fire and one gas-leak-related injury.
