Summary

Rosenbauer America is recalling 11 of its 2022 Commander and 2023 Commercial M2-106 fire trucks. The engine control module (ECM) can experience an internal short-circuit, which causes the engine to suddenly shut down while in use. If the engine stalls, the vehicle cannot be restarted, and Cummins will provide a free replacement of the control module to fix the issue.

Risk

An unexpected engine shutdown during emergency response or transit increases the risk of a crash and prevents the vehicle from being restarted to reach its destination.

What You Should Do

  1. Identify if your vehicle is an affected 2022 Rosenbauer Commander or a 2023 Rosenbauer Commercial M2-106 fire truck.
  2. Contact Rosenbauer America customer service at 1-651-462-1000 to discuss the recall and schedule a repair. Refer to Rosenbauer recall number C2614.
  3. Alternatively, contact Cummins directly as they will be replacing the engine control module (ECM) free of charge.
