Summary

Navistar, Inc. is recalling approximately 283 commercial vehicles and buses, including certain 2023 International LT, Lonestar, MV, HV, HX, and IC Bus TC models. The engine control module (ECM) in these vehicles may contain an internal electrical short-circuit that can cause the engine to stall unexpectedly. Cummins will provide a free replacement for the affected engine control modules to resolve the issue.

Risk

A short-circuit in the engine control module can cause the engine to stall suddenly while the vehicle is in motion. This unexpected loss of power increases the risk of a crash for the driver and other road users.

What You Should Do

  1. Check your vehicle registration or VIN to determine if your 2023 International LT, Lonestar, MV, HV, HX, or IC Bus TC Commercial bus is included in this recall.
  2. If your vehicle is affected, contact Navistar customer service at 1-800-448-7825 to arrange for a free engine control module (ECM) replacement by Cummins.
  3. Refer to Navistar's internal recall reference number 'None' or NHTSA campaign number 22V609 when speaking with service representatives.
  4. For additional questions or to check your VIN for other open recalls, contact the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov.
