Summary

A2ZEV is recalling approximately 8,016 NACS to CCS1 Original Typhoon/Slider Lock Charger Adapters. The locking mechanism on the adapter may become damaged and come loose from the connector, which can cause the charger to overheat. If you own a Version 1 adapter with part numbers NC1V10124DC or NC1V10224DC-ILW, please refer to the Affected Products section for specific identification details and the Your Remedy Options section for replacement instructions.

Risk

The locking mechanism can fail and loosen, leading to poor electrical contact that causes the charger to overheat. This creates a significant risk of personal injury, such as burns, to the operator during or after the charging process.

What You Should Do

  1. Check your adapter's part number to see if it matches NC1V10124DC or NC1V10224DC-ILW.
  2. Identify if you have a Version 1 NACS to CCS1 adapter, as these are the specific units being replaced.
  3. A2Z will replace the Version 1 NACS to CCS1 adapter with the Version 2 adapter, free of charge.
  4. Contact A2Z customer service at Safety@a2zevshop.com for instructions on receiving your free Version 2 replacement adapter.
  5. If you have additional questions, contact the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov.
