Summary

Mitsubishi Fuso Truck of America, Inc. (MFTA) is recalling 243 RIZON model FEC7K and FEC9K electric trucks from the 2024 model year. A defect in the electrical circuit can allow excessive current to damage components, causing the vehicle control unit to malfunction and the electric motor to unexpectedly shut down. Owners should contact an authorized dealer to have a sub harness installed and any damaged connectors replaced for free.

Risk

The vehicle may experience a sudden loss of drive power while in motion, which increases the risk of a crash because the driver cannot maintain speed or move the vehicle out of traffic.

What You Should Do

  1. Check if your vehicle is a 2024 Mitsubishi Fuso RIZON truck (Models FEC7K or FEC9K).
  2. Contact MFTA customer service at 1-877-711-0707 and reference recall number C10131 to verify if your specific VIN is affected.
  3. Schedule a service appointment with an authorized dealer to receive the free remedy: 'Dealers will inspect and replace any discolored or deformed connectors as necessary and install a sub harness, free of charge.'
  4. Look for an official owner notification letter, which MFTA began mailing to customers on January 20, 2025.
  5. Contact the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov for additional information regarding recall 24V932.
