Summary

Hino Motors Sales U.S.A., Inc. is recalling 1,865 of its 2022-2023 NE7A, NE7B, NJ7A, NJ7B, NV7A, and NV7B vehicles. The driver-side U-bolts that secure the front axle to the leaf spring assembly can become loose and may eventually detach entirely. Dealers will inspect and tighten these U-bolts and replace any related parts as necessary at no cost to owners.

Risk

If the U-bolts loosen or detach, the driver may experience a sudden loss of vehicle handling and steering control, which significantly increases the risk of a crash.

What You Should Do

  1. Confirm your vehicle is one of the affected 2022-2023 Hino models: NE7A, NE7B, NJ7A, NJ7B, NV7A, or NV7B.
  2. Contact your local Hino dealer to schedule a free inspection and tightening of the driver-side front axle U-bolts.
  3. If the dealer finds that the U-bolts or related components have been damaged or are otherwise faulty, they will replace those parts free of charge.
  4. For further questions or to verify if your specific vehicle is included, contact Hino customer service at 1-248-699-9390 and reference recall number AAUW0.
  5. You may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov.
