Summary

General Motors is recalling approximately 995,085 vehicles including the 2014-2017 Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse, and GMC Acadia because the driver's air bag inflator may explode when it is deployed. This recall is due to a manufacturing defect that can cause the inflator to rupture during a crash. Dealers will replace the driver's air bag module with a new part free of charge to resolve this safety issue.

Risk

If the air bag inflator explodes during a crash, it can send sharp metal fragments flying into the vehicle's cabin. These fragments can strike the driver or other passengers, leading to serious permanent injury or death.
