Summary

Dorel Juvenile Group USA is recalling approximately 24,000 inclined sleepers, including the beige Eddie Bauer Slumber and Soothe Bassinet and the purple Disney Baby Doze and Dream Bassinet. These products were sold at Target, Kmart, Ross, Marshalls, and TJ Maxx from November 2014 through February 2017 for about $60. The recall was issued because infants can roll from their back to their stomach or side while unrestrained in inclined sleep products, leading to suffocation. Consumers should immediately stop using these sleepers and contact Dorel for a $60 voucher refund.

Risk

Infant fatalities have occurred in other inclined sleep products when infants rolled over while unrestrained. There is a high risk of suffocation if an infant rolls from their back to their stomach or side while in the inclined sleeper.

What You Should Do

  1. Immediately stop using the Eddie Bauer Slumber and Soothe Bassinet (Model BT055CSY) and the Disney Baby Doze and Dream Bassinet (Model BT071DHS).
  2. Check the label on the underneath side of the fabric of the inclined sleeper pad to locate the model number to confirm if your unit is affected.
  3. Contact Dorel Juvenile Group USA to receive a refund in the form of a $60 voucher. You can call toll-free at 877-657-9546 or text 812-373-6673 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday.
  4. You can also request your refund by emailing inclinesleeperrecall@djgusa.com or visiting www.safety1st.com and clicking on “Safety Notices” for more information.
  5. For additional questions, contact the CPSC Hotline at 800-638-2772.
