Summary

Forest River, Inc. is recalling approximately 1,552 units of 2024 Aurora and Coachmen Catalina travel trailers. The distribution panel wire in these vehicles may be improperly routed, leaving it unprotected from the battery. This defect can lead to a short circuit or electrical fault, which significantly increases the risk of a fire occurring in the trailer. Owners can have this issue fixed for free through an authorized dealer.

Risk

The improper routing of the distribution panel wire allows it to remain unprotected from the battery connection. Without a circuit breaker protecting this line, a short circuit could cause the wire to overheat and ignite a fire.

What You Should Do

  1. Check your vehicle's registration or title to determine if you own a 2024 Forest River Aurora or a 2024 Forest River Coachmen Catalina Travel Trailer.
  2. If you own an affected trailer, contact Forest River Customer Service at 1-574-825-4995 to confirm your vehicle is part of recall number 203-1757.
  3. Schedule an appointment with an authorized Forest River dealer to have the distribution panel wire rerouted to the breaker side of the mini breaker, which will be performed free of charge.
  4. If you have additional questions or need help finding a dealer, contact the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov.
