Summary

Mercedes-Benz USA is recalling 4 of its 2021 GLB250 vehicles because the Electronic Stability Program (ESP) unit may be damaged. This defect can cause the anti-lock brakes (ABS) and electronic stability control (ESC) to stop working, and may also cause an electrical short circuit. To fix this issue, authorized Mercedes-Benz dealers will replace the ESP unit in affected vehicles at no cost to the owner.

Risk

If the anti-lock brakes and stability control systems fail, the driver may lose control of the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash. Additionally, an electrical short circuit within the unit significantly increases the risk of a vehicle fire.
