Summary

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling 32,328 Mopar Gear Shift Control Cables because the cable can detach from the transmission. If this happens, the vehicle may not shift into the "Park" position even when the driver attempts to do so. This can result in a loss of park function, causing the vehicle to roll away unexpectedly. A final repair is currently being developed, and owners were notified of the safety risk via letters mailed on November 6, 2025.

Risk

A vehicle that cannot be shifted into "Park" may roll away after the driver exits, significantly increasing the risk of a crash or injury to bystanders. The shifter may fail to secure the vehicle even if the dashboard indicates the transmission is in the park position.
